We provide access to a restored life for those experiencing homelessness in Denver.
How Lovewell Colfax Works
1. Become a Member
Unhoused friends can become members for free and receive a membership card granting access to our resource center. Membership says clearly: “You belong here.”
2. Take Classes and Earn Points
Members attend classes focused on housing, employment, health, and recovery. Each class attended earns points added directly to their membership card.
3. Shop at the Lovewell Store
Members use their points to shop for food, clothing, and essentials, restoring dignity and personal responsibility.
What we do every week
-
Sunday Outreach
Each Sunday, 28 volunteers pack wagons with pizza, fruit, Gatorade, and resource totes, distributing hygiene items, food, and resource cards to ~150 people along Colfax from Colorado to the Capitol. Their goal: friendship, listening, prayer, and invitations to Monday Bingo.
-
Monday Night Bingo
Every Monday Night in the lobby of The Heights, anywhere from 25-80 people come from Colfax to share in a meal together and play bingo. This is a space of community, laughter, and listening. It’s a space where dignity is offered, dreams are fostered, and your name is known.
-
Tuesday Classes
Classes are offered based on the four relationships broken in the fall. These classes are designed to help people move out of poverty and homelessness and into a restored life. People who attend and participate in these classes earn points, which they can spend in the Lovewell Store.
-
Lovewell Store
The Lovewell Store, operating on the points system, allows for members to purchase a variety of items. Clothing, food, hygiene items, and a handful of other resources are available for purchase with points they have earned.
What our friends are saying
-
“I wasn’t in my right mind when you first talked to me, but you talked to me kindly and didn’t mind that I smelled. Something’s different about y’all. Can I share with you what I believe about God and you tell me what you agree or disagree with?”
Friend Living on Colfax
-
“You’re right. I’m homeless right now, but I’m only 27. Maybe I could be a teacher one day like I’ve always dreamed.”
Friend Living on Colfax
-
“I’ve never picked out clothes for myself. Being at the Lovewell store is the first time. It’s always been hand-me-downs or handouts.”
